Document Association

I am in the process of replacing Auto Vue as a viewer of .dwg files
from Vantage. Our CAD staff has upgraded to Solid Works with
eDrawings as the viewer and I want to consolidate that to use the same
viewer for our old, but still in use, .dwg files. Does anyone know
the print and view commands to plug into the Document Association set
up? Auto Vue's look like this: av\avwin\avwin.exe &1 (view); and
av\avwin\avwin.exe -p &1 (print)
Thanks!
Vantage 4.0

When trying to view documents loaded with Document Association in our
Part File, we are getting the message:

A required .DLL file.AGM.DLL, was not found.

Nobody seems to know what this is or how to fix it...does anyone out
there have any suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Has anyone managed to get ACAD Drawings to open using Auto Desk Volo View
Express and the Document Association Module? If so, how did you set it up?

We are on V4.

Good afternoon all.

I've been trying to get document association going in v6 and I'm struggling
a bit. I've got excel and all the easy stuff to work but most of our
drawings and documents are in tif and jpeg formats and I didn't really want
to have to spend hundreds of pounds buying autovue. Does anybody use a
shareware / freeare product like ifranview and if so what parameters do you
need to pass. I tried ifranview with the &1 parameter but when I clicked on
the view button nothing happend.

Any assistance would be much appriciated.

Regards

Martin Horton
I have a freeware image viewer I wrote that will handle JPEG's (also BMP &
GIF) if you wanted to take a look at it. I can't get it to read TIF files
though. Very simple, no menus, no buttons, just options to open another
file or print the current one your viewing. Wrote this for the users who
think a 104 keyboard has 103 too many keys.

Martin,

I use irfanview and it works well for us. The command line that worked
for me; "C:\progra~1\irfanview\i_view32.exe" "&1". Very eight character
and space sensitive.

Thank you all for your responses. I've now got infranview working using a
basic directory and filename stucture. Looks like I'll have to do some file
administration for this to work well.

Once again thanks

Has anybody tried to associate Microsoft Binder in the Document Association Maintenance. I put the whole path in there but I can't seem to get it to work. We don't use Autovue. Excel and Word works fine but I know they can run just using the .exe because they are part of the environmental variables.

Anybody know how to get Microsoft Binder to work?

Thanks,

Jasper

We associated a pdf file to a customer shipment. However, when we look at the customer shipment tracker, the attachment does not show up.

Any ideas why? We are in version 6.1.

Thanks,
Jasper
