No, we are not using the CRM module.

The first time I open the Workbench it is always slower then the next time.
Are you using the CRM module?

I don't believe that I have seen the degradation in workstation performance
as you have mentioned, probably because most of our computers are shut down
nightly. We run a mixed environment of 98, 2k and XP. I log out of my XP
machine nightly, but usually do not reboot it during the week. I haven't
noticed anything odd when experimenting with the EWB. Except, once vantage
is closed and started again we are looking at the 1 minute startup of EWB
again.

I have seen this and the more you open EWB the slower you computer
can become

One thing that I found was almost a critical thing to do is to reboot
your workstations every evening!
We are running all W2K Pro workstations and if they have not been
rebooted in several days, Vantage starts acting very flakey

Hope that helps

We are going to be upgrading Vantage from 5.1 to 5.2 in a couple weeks. We
have a test database set up with 5.2.313 and Progress 9.1D. One issue we
have run into is the slow loading of the Engineering workbench. It is
about a 1 minute load time when you first start it. Then if you start it
again in the same session it is about 3 seconds.

Anyone else have the same situation? Is this the normal behavior?

I double-checked the usual virus scan exclusions, both client and server.
Everything related to vantage is excluded and the clients do not scan
network drives.

Thanks,
