Thanks for your response.  We are in the middle of an upgrade and are working with converted data from Vantage 6.1.  Our Global Rescheduling is not working properly so we are awaiting a fix.  This might be interesting to look at once we get the fix in place.

We are upgrading from V6.1 to E10 and so we have very little experience with the tools that are now offered in E10. 


*In V6.1 when changing an OrderDtl Due Date and moving to Job Manager the Order/Ln/Rel focus would be on the current Order/Ln/Rel. 


*In E10 when changing an OrderDtl Due Date and moving to Job Manager the Order/Ln/Rel focus is at the top of the 'sort' field.


We change hundreds of dates per week and each of these Jobs/Orders could have hundreds of lines to scroll through, this V6.1 - E10 change could cost us many hours of time.  Is anyone aware of a tool that we could use to have the job manager screen 'focus' on the current Order/Ln/Rel rather than defaulting to a sort?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I do not have an answer to that, but I can tell you the way we do our date changes. We are on 9.05 (recently upgraded from vantage 5.2) – I am not sure if this is the same in 10. We found with Epicor 9 our office staff all needed dual monitors to fully utilize all of the new tools. So we have ‘order entry’ open on one screen and ‘job entry’ open on the other screen. When you switch to a different order release, Epicor will automatically pull up that job for you on your other job screen, so we can update both dates very quickly. However, we don’t change anyway near the amount that you change so there is probably a better tool for you to automate your process.

I am not sure I am catching your concern clearly but I am sure you can easily take care of this issue by doing a screen customization. Its actually sounds like a fairly simple screen customization to be done on E10.

One new scheduling tool that is in E9.05 (and I'm sure in E10) that we use is the global scheduling program.

 

It allows you to take a group of jobs and move them to a specific date (forward or backwards scheduled)

 

They need to be firmed first and we use a quick search to pull us certain kinds of jobs like finished goods, product groups, planners, etc.

 

If you can group your jobs to be moved with a criteria it may help you.

Though I have limited experience, I have not been able to determine how to customize a screen so it will point to the same record in a different table. This seems like it might be better suited to the BAQ/BPM  tool.
