Epicor 9.05 - OE Management/OE Explorer Install

Thank you for the reply Heather.

I was able to get the install started and then it gave me an error that
sounded like it was not compatible with the out of the box version of
9.05.

I installed the 700 service pack first and then the OE Management
installed fine.

It could be that during the installation of 700, I stopped all the
appservers and databases but I can't remember.

Hi Joe,

Not sure if you figured this out yet or not but I worked with Epicor on
this and I learned the following:
They said not to install OEM from the Epicor 9.05 for OpenEdge CD that
you received because there were problems with it. They told me to
download the OEM executable from EpicWeb located under Epicor 9 ->
Downloads -> Version 9.05.600 -> Third Party Products -> OpenEdge ->
10.2a -> Windows -> 64-bit -> OEM102A64_nt.exe. Before they installed
this executable they shutdown all of the databases and appservers and
the OE Admin Service. To do this they went into the
oe102a\properties\conmgr.properties file (make a copy of original just
in case) and set each of the database's autostart values to false and
you can go into the oe102a\properties\ubroker.properties (again make a
copy of original just in case) and set each of the appserver's autostart
values to 0 and set the OE Admin Service to Manual. Then reboot the
server and that should keep the databases and appservers and the OE
Admin Service from starting. Or if you have the PET installed and
working in a 32-bit environment it's as easy to connect to the database
and appservers in your 64-bit environment as right-clicking on the
Progress Explorer node in the PET, clicking on Add Progress Server...,
type in the server name, user and password, check the Reconnect at
startup checkbox only, and click OK. Now you can stop and start the
AppServers and Database from this PET tool (don't forget to stop the OE
Admin Service too from the 64-bit server too). Then you can install OEM
hopefully without any problems. I hope this helps you!

Thanks,
-Heather

Hello,

I'm installing Epicor 9.05 on our new server as we start our migration
from 9.04.

My Epicor server is running Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 x64.

Can I install OE Management/OE Explorer on the server?

Each time I try I get an error:

Error Code: -5011 : 0x80040702

Error Information:

>SetupNew\SetupDLL.cpp (510)

pAPP:OpenEdge Management and OpenEdge Explorer

PVENDOR:PSC

PGUID:49E1150F-908E-42BB-B26B-15B38B1E5931

$12.0.0.58849

@Windows XP Service Pack 1 (7601) IE 9.0.8112.16421

If I can't install this on the server then what are the OS requirements
for install it? Can it go on Windows 7 x64?

Hi Joe,

I ran into the same error message and figured out that if you STOP the AdminService for OpenEdge 10.2A and then try to run the setup.exe program it will allow you to continue on with entering the Serial Number and Control Numbers. Although, when I do enter them and click Accept and then Next, the program freezes up on me...Anyone have any ideas on why this is happening and what I could do to fix it?
