I wrote a BPM awhile back for our tools. The guys didn’t want to have to figure out where they were stored when they came back in. The BPM takes the part they enter in and gathers the Bin/Whse information and auto loads it for them, over-riding the defaults.

Subject: Re: [Vantage] Epicor 9 - Inspection Processing Question
That is exactly how we want it to work too but it is pulling a BIN. I don't know why. I guess I will have to open a ticket with Epicor....UGH.
Thanks Kim

When we don't have a Primary Bin set, in Inspection Processing no Bin defaults in and we have to enter/select a Bin (even if we have some of the parts already in stock in different bins). That's how ours works. 905.702A. Lots of times we enter 'default' as the Bin in Inspection Processing (since they won't really know where the parts will be located once they go to the stockroom) and then when the parts get to the stockroom and are put away the Stockroom Clerk will do an Inventory Transfer from the Default Bin to the Bin where the parts reside.

Close but no.
The Part has no Primary Bin set up. But when the inspection processing is complete and Accepted it is populating a BIN. The only think I can guess it because we currently have stock in that BIN for that Part. But this time it is going to another BIN.

If there is a Primary Bin set up, the Bin that shows up in Inspection Processing is the Primary Bin. If there is no Primary Bin set up, no Bin shows up in Inspection Processing.
(is that what you are asking?)

I knew I could set it there. I just want a Default BIN for all parts. I don't want to assign a Primary BIN yet....it will change. But my main question is about the BIN that gets assigned after Inspection Processing. I think it is by where the stock currently arises....correct?

You can set a 'Primary Bin' in Part Maintenance; Plants; Warehouses; Primary Bin.

When an inspector completes his inspection and enters the info in the Inspection Processing screen we are noticing that once he types the Qty accepted the warehouse and BIN default. Our warehouse is showing correct but it goes to the wrong default BIN. The
only thing I can figure is it picks the current BIN that has stock in it for that part. Is that correct? Is there a way to set a default BIN for a warehouse?
