Epicor Ideas Votes DO MATTER

Just passing on the news… There has been some negative comments in the past on this and other forums that we may be ignoring Epicor Ideas…
I want to make a very clear statement.

  • Your Votes Matter
  • Epicor does monitor the votes

I personally spend a portion of EVERY day in the Epicor Ideas portal. We are using the ideas to decide what new features should be in the next version. Currently we are in the final planning steps for the Kinetic 2023.2 release roadmap. Within the roadmap,

  • Over ONE HALF of the Jira Epics are related to Ideas that YOU submitted and/or voted on.
  • Over One half of those ideas have over 50 votes each.
  • It looks like over 1000 votes will be released as a result of the completion of Kinetic 2023.2

Without your ideas and votes, the release will look completely different than it would have. We would have made different decisions.

Will your favorite idea make it? Well… NOT all high count ideas will make it into the 2023.2 release. but a few low count/high impact/low development cost ideas DID make it into the release. One main consideration includes our capacity to complete the work. But be assured that the high count ideas were examined and considered.

We will be making announcements at Insights about what ideas are making into the October Roadmap.

One example of an idea that is being considered is https://epicor-manufacturing.ideas.aha.io/ideas/ERP-I-148 which requests validation of Ship by date in sales order to be on a date that is a shipment day (not a weekend/holiday).

  • This was entered by @Msmits back in June 2020.
  • it has 117 votes currently
  • Since its creation, it continually had people vote for it.
  • all this activity attracted attention from the Product Management team, and it was promoted to get “sized” by development back in january (when there were 113 votes). since then, 4 more votes were added.
  • it resulted in a “medium” sized enhancement.

So… in the end, while it is not yet guaranteed to be included yet (reference safe harbor statement here), it is a very strong contender.
