Epicor Minor Update with Edge Agent installed

So I updated the app server from 2023.2.4->2023.2.9 and we already mass deployed the clients and the edge agent. Epicor will not auto update unless they quit edge agent and then relaunch the client to auto update then start edge agent back up.

Has anyone had a workaround with this? I know it is a simple process to do, but I also know not everyone is tech savvy and will just submit a ticket as soon as an error pops up. My only thought would be to have a script uninstall/quit the edge agent, run their clients to auto update, then start edge agent again every time we do apply a minor update.

I know Epicor is supposed to have a silent install for the edge agent in the next major update but we are planning on going live with 2023.2 possibly this weekend.

Epicor said they are going to fix this in 2024.1. I am assuming if auto update = true they are going to kill the edge agent and then once it is finish launch the edge agent.

This will be a welcomed fix.

Anybody know what the edge process is in task manger? I don’t have edge in the tray so need to end task but how ???

My shows as Kinetic Tray, but I’m still on 2021.2.

I can confirm it still shows as KineticTray in Task Manager
