Wondering any SaaS LifeScience in Biotech / Med Device / Pharma out there. We in need of direction of Audit Trail. We know that we can turn on change log but to what extent ?

You can configure the change log to log any changes on any field in any table you want. It ends up being relatively useless because its just a big mass of text that is impractical to parse. And it ignores deletions.

We are on premise, but I can speak to what we do. The chglog table is very difficult to use for reporting, but it can be used. We have data directive BPMs to prevent record deletion in specific tables. We use custom code to generate records in some UD tables to create transaction history for some processes. We use some UD fields to store information about the most recent change, but that does not provide a full audit trail.
