Epicor's policy on adding modules when not on Maint enance

No, their policy is regardless of what version you are on they will not sell
you a module if you aren't current on maintenance. Period. Thus that module
will be quite pricey if I have to pay 1 years worth of maintenance to get
it. Can you say "end of project"....Thanks Epicor

Does the advance print module work with 5.1? If not what they could be
saying is you need to upgrade to 6.1 and to do THAT you would need
maintenance. Their policy on that has always been you would need to pay for
ALL missing periods between when it was discontinued and the present (or if
less, re-buy Vantage altogether).

Also, even it there was an advance printing module at the 5.1 version level
I would really doubt they would sell what is basically an unsupported
version. Hence the need to upgrade again meaning being on maintenance.

Ya think their money hungry or not? Probably miss management has put them
in a hole and now there holding people hostage. Sounds like something a
bunch of politicians could come up with.......

Here's an interesting twist I thought you'd enjoy. We went off
maintenance
last year after tight budget conditions and frankly not getting any value
out of the HUGE annual fees. We had basically been scared straight on
updates and never installed them after 5.1. for fear bugs would render the
system less than acceptable and we'd wait for ever for a fix that might
not
cause us to have to rekey data....( another story but not a good one) And
therefore never had need for support. So recently, my accounting person
decides she'd like to fax and email documents and therefore we inquire
about
purchasing the advanced print module. GUESS WHAT??

They will only sell you new modules if you are on maintenance!!!! Can you
say blackmail?? What kind of policy is this to not make a sale or support
a
product at all if you aren't on maintenance. People we are being hosed by
this company and it's policies. We all paid ENOUGH for this product
initially to warrant FREE fixes at a minimum. Heck even Gates does that.
These tactics should be a crime.
