Error 515 printing CR reports

Thanks Todd your suggestion seems to have fixed the problem. However it
seems that I have to open existing reports and save as a new name before the
515 error goes away. Have a great day.

Subject: RE: [Vantage] Error 515 printing CR reports

I had an issue a few weeks ago where I installed 8.5 and then uninstalled it
to go back to 8.0. I found that report distribution would still not load
and discovered that many files in the C:\Seagate directory tree were not
deleted by the uninstall. I deleted them all and re-installed 8.0 and could
then install the distribution facility. Later I learned, here on the group,
that there is a C:\Windows\Crystal folder with many .dll files still there
from 8.5. I checked and sure enough I had 8.5 files. This was causing
problems with the poform even though I thought I was back to 8.0.

I suspect that because you are making modifications on your client they are
being linked to the 8.5 .dll's when they are saved and thus not work on
other clients. When I distributed the modified poform or ran it and the
standard poform reports on my PC they would not work. I suspect that if you
really clean out your PC (uninstall Crystal, delete C:\Seagate, delete
c:\Windows\Crystal and search for anything related to Seagate or Crystal)
then re-install Crystal 8.0 you might find that you don't have to
un/re-install all the clients (unless they to had been upgraded to 8.5).

The report is Vantages shipping labels with minor mods. Upon further
research I found the following K.B article c2003579 on Crystal site re: 515
errors. I Had the MR1 maintenance release loaded up on my server and client
prior to going to 8.5 (on my client only) . I uninstalled 8.5 from the
client , I deleted 7.0 from the server and reloaded 8.0 on both machines.
I have update the p2sodbc.dll on both machines to be the same (version
8.5.0.72) still no luck. Someone had mentioned that uninstalling Crystal
does not remove all the files from the local machine, it appears that my
upgrades must have restores a .dll ? to a pre MR1 version on the server.
Vantage Tech supports suggest doing a local install / uninstall on all
clients that need to run the report.

Running 5.0.323 and Crystal 8.0 I get a 515 error when trying to print a
report on any client that Crystal is not installed on. The same report
prints fine on machine with Crystal loaded. Any ideas?
