Error 567

When I try to print a certain old PO I get an Error 567 message and it won't print. I am able to print all other PO's without any problems.

Any Ideas?

Jasper

We get this when someone puts a page and a half of instructions in
the comments and duplicates them across the forms. Then the packing
slips won't print and the invoices etc. etc etc...

Look in comments and look for white space. A bunch of CR's will take
up space too.

Strictly going by the error code the following is the response from Answerbook Detail #909MPS

567 PAGESIZEOVERFLOW Returned if the total length of the page header and page footer is greater than the length allotted for a page.

Have you tried killing the user's session in PROMON?
Have you tried copying the db files from a good VNTGWK folder to the next persons? Do all your users share the same VNTGWK folder?
Did the Crystal Form get modified? Open the SO in question in Crystal and check the margins? Make a back up first!!!

I usually do one of these and it works.

I think I got something similar before (can't remember the exact error # -
but similar sounding problem). For me - it turned out I had too much text
in my header comments field for Vantage b/c of a copy paste that we did that
pasted in a bunch of returns... anyway, we shortened down the comments and
it went away and I have never seen it since... but Vantage allows a huge
number, so this would only be your problem if you have a crazy amount of
text like we had...

Thanks to everyone who replied. That is exactly what it was.

Actually kind of funny. User entered an order with one line and 27
releases for that line. They then manually typed all of the release
info, due date, quantity, ship to info, etc into the order comments.
Better stop by there this afternoon and give a refresher course on order
entry.

Thanks for the help!

Todd

Error 567 usually happens because of one of two issues. If all users get
the problem it's usually a comment that is too large so no detail lines are
printed. If only one user gets it it'll be the page size of the default
printer being too small.

Hope this gives you something to go on.

We've opened a remote warehouse which requires access to Vantage. As there
is only a requirement for a single PC at this warehouse (and also to keep
costs down!) we have installed an XP Pro PC and a broadband router at the
warehouse. The remote PC then connects to a 'mirror' PC here using Remote
Desktop and a VPN. This works satisfactorily and the response from Vantage
is quite acceptable.
The only problem so far is when attempting to print Receipt Labels from
Vantage to a TEC printer connected to the remote PC. The print function
errors with 'Error 567'.
When the remote PC and printer were here on our network, the labels printed
fine.

I know 567 is a Crystal error related to either a comments or page size
error but as these parameters have not changed since the move I'm a little
puzzled.

Any bright ideas anybody?

Richard

Hi Richard,

This could be related to how remote desktop is managing the
printing. You could always share the printer and map the printer on the
remote machine to the office computer.

Also test with a virtual pdf printer to ensure it is the printer that is
failing and nothing else.

Regards,

Stephen Edginton

Richard,

Is that remote PC part of your Active Directory either locally or through a
Forest? If so, instead of using Remote Desktop through a VPN install Vantage
locally at the remote PC. Then connect to your VPN, run Vantage locally at
the remote PC and then you can print to any printer that PC has access to.

One thing to verify is that the printer driver is loaded on both the remote machine as well as the one that you are conneting to.

Thanks to everybody for their help on this one.
My understanding was that if the Remote Desktop option for Local Resources
Printers was ticked, then the local printer was available to the remote
application.
This wasn't the case for me. The remote PC wouldn't list the local printer.
Ended up installing the exact same printer details and drivers on the remote
PC using one of the TS ports and life became easier!
It might not be the preferred solution but it seems to work OK.
Thanks again Stephen, Dave & Scott.

Richard
