There are a couple ways to go at this, but it sounds like the PartTran
table may be the way to go. This table lists every transaction that occurs
in Vantage: Purchases (Pur-Ins, Pur-Stk, Pur-Mtl, Pur-Sub, Pur-Ukn),
Shipments (Stk-Cus, Mfg-Cus), Transfers (Ins-Stk, Stk-Stk, etc), Cost
changes (Adj-Cst), and Accounting Transactions for all of the above.

It is a HUGE file, and you'll find much better performance using Report
Builder, although I still prefer Crystal for all of my reporting needs. I
haven't created a Report Builder from scratch in over 3 years.

For what you are talking about, you could filter the PartTran.TranType field
for any fields that start with PUR. These would be all your purchases no
matter where they ended up (inspection, stock, job, etc.). Make a Group by
PartNum, then sort descending within the group by TranDate. The VendorNum
is one of the fields in the table also, so you can see when your last
purchase was made and which vendor you purchased from. Link the VendorNum
to the Vendor table to get the vendors name and other information.
