Re reporting quarters in the report writer
From Vantage Help
Number of Periods
The number of fiscal periods that will be used to accumulate data inside
this column. Available if this column is either an Actuals or Budget
column type, enter the number of periods in this field.
Example: You want to see the budgeted amounts for a single fiscal
period. Enter 1 for the number of periods for the current Budget column.
My help
For a quarter enter #3 periods assuming your GL calendar is 12 periods
So if you want a report with 4 columns for 4 quarters set up the column
set as follows
Enter 3 in the number of periods for each column
In the first column enter 9 as the period offset - this will then print
the total of periods 1 thru 3
In the 2nd column enter offset of 6
3rd enter 3
4th enter 0
Then run the report as at period 12 of the year - the 0 in the last
column will mean print period 12 and the #3 periods will print periods
12,11 and 10.
Try also the roll periods option to see what you get
Happy playing
