Just an FYI about a nasty bug we came across in 6.1 with the latest
patches. Vantage is working on this and estimating a fix by
Thursday, but I'm hoping this alert will keep someone from falling
in the hole behind us.
Job splits for serialized part numbers will snag ALL of the
available serial numbers in the system and assign them to the new
job split, regardless of quantity. If multiple job splits are run,
the last one gets the serial numbers. We are in the process of
unassigning all of the serial numbers and reassigning them to the
proper jobs now while we wait for the fix. Per Epicor, the fix
(when figured out) will only prevent future problems.
We are only on Day 2 of Go Live, and only had 500+ serial numbers in
the system at the time of the discovery. I am sure others out there
are in much worse shape.
