We just converted from 6.1 to 8.03 over the weekend. Is anyone else
having issues with the new serial number assignment logic? In 6.1, if
you had a job set up for 100 parts, you could complete a partial (say
50) generate serial numbers for the 50 then complete the balance of the
order later and generate the serial numbers for the balance later.
Current logic on 8.03 says you can only generate the exact same qty of
serial numbers as the total job qty. If you change the job qty to 50 to
assign serial numbers then change back to 100, costing on the job is
affected (not to mention a pain). Also, what about scrap? Are going to
have to assign serial numbers to scrapped parts? Seems like a big step
back.
