How to grant a user to enable Lot Tracking for a part

Hii, I would like to enable lot tracking for a part in the Part module (by checking the check box in the image below).
However, the box is not enable for certain users who are not security managers (?)
I was wondering which security/ menu maintenance settings would have to be turned on in order to allow users the ability to turn on lot tracking for a part?

Thanks and all help is greatly appreciated!

I think you will find that if the part has already has a quantity on hand you cannot enable the flag. So you would have to 0 the quantity change the flag then put back all the parts with the relevant lot numbers.

Just bare in mind that if you use lot tracking Backflushing and AutoReceiving functions are ignored.

Make sure you get all the system prompts setup correctly or you will popups occurring all over the place for entering in lot numbers.

Hii, thank you so much for your reply!
However, my problem is that even when I create a new part, I am not able to check that box, unless I am security manager for some reason…

Would you have a guess on why this is happening?
Thanks for the help!

What if you add new part is is read only?

If I create a new part, the check box is just grayed out (not able to be checked) unless I’m security manager…

Is there a bpm setting it to read only? or a customisation on the part entry screen?

Or check Field Security Maintenance. Did someone lock down that field based on security roles?

Hii, apparently it was a field based security issue, thank you for everyone’s help!
