How to open someone else's unshared BAQ?

We’re testing the 10.0 to 10.2 conversion, and had two BAQ conversion errors. I found both BAQ’s in the Ice.QueryHdr table, but they are authored by someone no longer with our company, and are not shared.

Is there a way to access them within Epicor & change the author to myself? Or do I need to log in as the other employee to share it, then access it with my user account?

Thanks!

If you are security manager you should be able to load it. Security Manager with Advanced BAQ permissions.

Like @josecgomez said, but also, once you can see it, you use Actions to change the ownership.

Try typing in the Query ID directly?

Still no dice .

If I enter the author as a filter, but leave Shared unchecked, the BAQ search form still shows only shared BAQ’s. It’s like Epicor ignores that checkbox for users other than myself.

You can use a UBAQ to update the author on those BAQs…

Jose is right, just load the BAQ by the BAQ name you won’t see it in the search

Oh!!! … That’s what you meant, Jose.I was typing the name directly into the search box, not into the main BAQ window.

That worked in my 10.2 Pilot environment, but I got the “This query name is already used by another user’s query” error in 10.0 Live. I checked that I’m a Security Mgr and have Adv BAQ’s too.

Rather a PICNIC than a PITA.

Yeah in 10.0 you gotta log in as that other user to open their non-shared queries. In 10.1 and above you can load it via the name as you’ve discovered.

Edit: An updatable BAQ to change the author of the non-shared BAQ’s is a good idea too. Thanks @josecgomez

I ended up making the UBAQ to change ownership, then deleted the two offending (unused) BAQ’s. Thanks for the help, guys!
