Invalid session errors on Vantage 8.03

Vic, Mark thanks for the tips. We are using the Sonicwall Global VPN client
and I will check those settings.

If it "all of a sudden" started, that seems suspicious if it once worked OK.
But I've seen this over VPNs in the past and this is what I did:

Check your VPN server settings and search for something resembling Dead Peer
Detection. If it's enabled, disable it.

Also, on the clients, there's usually the client based DPD setting as well
-- Make sure that's disabled.

Vantage is very sensitive to even the slightest network drop as we all know.
Disabling DPD resolved it for me. Not sure if you're using Windows VPN or a
OEM VPN client like SonicWall, but check the settings out. Good luck.

Subject: [Vantage] Invalid session errors on Vantage 8.03

We have been having a rash of "invalid session" errors occurring in our
Vantage clients all of a sudden and the users have to close out vantage
completely and re-log back in. It seems to happen very frequently when
certain users are working remotely over VPN. As far as I can tell, the VPN
isn't dropping out or anything, it just starts giving these errors and they
have to shut down the mfgsys client. Anyone else have these issues and is
there something I can look at to possibly fix?

Go into your user security and look at the session timeout settings. Try setting them to 60 minutes instead of the default 30 minutes
