Inventory Usage

From multiple people's replies, I was able to create a dashboard from 3
BAQs. I used a part number BAQ in the dashboard to publish the part number
and description and made a tracker view for input purposes. I also created
BAQs to display the number of pieces sold/returned and used in creating
other parts.

The helpful part there was using the part number in the filter for my
invoice and job use part of the dashboard. I'm happy with what I have, but
now I'm wondering if there is a way for the user to enter a date parameter
on the dashboard? Ex. From 1/1/11 through 5/31/11 or just 6/1/11 through
6/30/11.

Michelle,

I just sent you screenshots of a dashboard that I created to trace parts
from purchase through Dependent and Independent demand. I think it will
get you what you need.

Best regards,

Bill

We have part A which we can sell as part A, or we can use A to make XY
and/or LMN. We have hundreds, if not thousands, of parts like this. I
need
a report that tells me how many of part A that we've used within a
specific
time and how they were used.

I have a BAQ for the quantity sold, but how do I get the number of
pieces
used to make other parts? I know there is a Where Used report, but that
just tells me that A is needed for XY part. Ideas?

Yep and so is the WIP/Reconciliation report.

Mark;

Do you know if they did anything different with it?
If not and it is the same thing...could you send me the crystal
report (offline)?
Not sure if if will work, but the one in Progress is extremely
difficult to read, understand, and use.

Thanks

Gidday Patty,
Did you have any luck in this quest for an improved Inv Usage report?

If so, would you mind emailing me the files you found or are using? We're on V8.03.405A

Otherwise I guess I'll be doing a PartTran based report.

thanks kindly

This is very similar to creating a BoM report. That is you could start with the PartMtl table. The parent part will PartMtl.PartNum. From your example Part A would be the PartMtl.MtlPartNum.

It sounds like your logic might be more usage / job specific. Therefore instead of using the part tables you would use JobMtl.PartNum (for your part A). To get the parent part you would simply link JobMtl.JobNum to JobHead.JobNum using the appropriate indexes. You can get the RequiredQty & IssuedQty from the JobMtl table.
