Issues with Reinstall Epicor 11.1.200.13

Hi Everyone,

I have fairly new to epicor and I am having trouble with reinstalls. We are running ERP 11.1.200.13

I am trying to add MES to someone’s computer who already has Epicor installed. I try running the installer over what’s currently installed but it just hangs at the install process. I do not see Epicor showing up under control panel as a software that can be uninstalled.

Should I delete the Epicor folder on the C: and then run the installer/client? I also tried copying the client from one computer that has MES, to another but that did not seem to work either. If possible I would like for them to maintain their dashboard customization.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

If memory serves me correctly it will not show on the control panel. You have to delete a few folders on the C drive. I always delete the following for a reinstall.

This is what I remove…
C:\Epicor
C:\Program Data\Epicor(the instance you want to delete) This is usually a hidden folder.

You don’t need to install MES, its the same client that is already installed. Just make a copy of the client shortcut and add /MES to the target (and rename it).

It will, but only if the installer was used.
If someone just copied the client folder over and made shortcuts, it won’t.

I only see my Epicor 9 in control panel. My Kinetic is not in control panel and that was installed via client folder. I thought that was a change with the newer versions.
