Job scrap cost

Hi,

Unfortunately, there is no standard report. I have written such
reports on 6.1 using corvu in the past. Reports were based around
the fact that there was a Part BOM which was identical to the JOB
expect for quantities etc. But there is no reason why not take the
job std hours/costs or even the actual hours/costs.

It was assumed that the cost of scrap would take the standard
instead of the actual because most reports were based around
standard hrs or standard cost. This rolled up all of the previous
standard costs and prorata'd setup costs or other qty/per factors.

The other feature that was VB forms on the scrap reason codes. In
one particular environment scrap might be detected at one operation
but was inaffect created at another so the VB form was used to
determine responsibility based on the scrap code, hence the scrap
could be allocated collectly , from a reporting point of view.

If you are using sub assemblies then you made need to determine the
critical path or assume the standard unit cost depending on your
requirements.

Probably, possible through crystal but corvu and the VBI takes makes
it alot easier to develop and test. Sorry not much technical
information here.

Is there a report within Vantage that will capture TOTAL COSTS for
scrap within a job? EX: if working on a job and at ASM 1 OPER 50
there is a problem with the unit and it is beyond repair, it is
scrapped. What is the total cost to scrap at this level? This cost
would include all ASM that was done previously to get to this level.

We need the labor, material, subcontract, etc. cost.

We are currently at Version 6.0, but if it could be done in a later
version we would also like to know.

Thanks,
