Jobs closing / completed

When closing a job and printing the Wip Reconcilliation, there's a qty that goes into the suspense account. I match the qty on the job to the qty completed / received.  Yet, there still seems to be an amount that doesn't belong in there.  I can't figure out what its from.
HELP!!!
thanks

We are doing it the same as you are now. Checking for discrepancies, making adjustments, and closing manually. We looked into the variance issue (if the job is closed without completing the entire job qty) with Epicor and they didn’t have a solution for us.
Would really like to get the auto process working though! Right now this is not on the top of the priority list for improvements so I haven’t been playing with it much but if you find anything out I would be glad to hear about it.

We're closing Manually. After running the wip reconcilliation to be sure they're hitting the correct GL accounts.
Thats the issue, when job is closed short, it creates a variance. Material allocated for the job.
I manually go in , undo approved, update qty to match qty completed. This seems to be the fix. Was wondering if hitting closed not compete would do the same thing.

Are you closing manually or through the automated process?

Hi All,
Can jobs be closed without completeing them?
We create a job for an amount and sometimes don't fulfill the amount.
When we close the job, it allows it to be completed without closing but not close without completeing.

thanks in advance

Hi All,
Can jobs be closed without completeing them?
We create a job for an amount and sometimes don't fulfill the amount.
When we close the job, it allows it to be completed without closing but not close without completeing.

Subject: [Vantage] Jobs closing / completed

Hi All,
Can jobs be closed without completeing them?
We create a job for an amount and sometimes don't fulfill the amount.
When we close the job, it allows it to be completed without closing but not close without completeing.

thanks in advance
jacqueline

Yes. Completion removes the job from schedule yet allows adjustments to fix costs/correct entries before closing/clearing WIP/posting.

It is a handy intermediate step before closing but you can just close if job is shipped/received and clean.

When we close the job, it allows it to be completed without closing but not close without completeing.

thanks in advance
jacqueline

We have a Service Connect that runs nightly checking a variety of parameters and then closing any jobs that meet the given criteria.  It then sends an email reporting those jobs.

You are running a program other than the Job Auto Completion / Closing process? What is the benefit to that?

Just an FYI, when I spoke to Epicor they informed me that we should not be using the Report Qty button, we should log in and go to end activity to report,  Bypassing report qty step.  He said known issues with this.

Just an FYI, when I spoke to Epicor they informed me that we should not be using the Report Qty button, we should log in and go to end activity to report, Bypassing report qty step. He said known issues with this.

We create a job for an amount and sometimes don't fulfill the amount.
When we close the job, it allows it to be completed without closing but not close without completeing.

Can jobs be closed without completeing them?
We create a job for an amount and sometimes don't fulfill the amount.
When we close the job, it allows it to be completed without closing but not close without completeing.

thanks in advance
jacqueline
