ProControl (dos screen) to kick users out of Vantage (4.0 & 5.x days).
How is this accomplished in 6.1? Our system had a "hiccup" and kicked
everyone out, some of the old logins are still showing as active, and we've
hit our license count.

I use ProMon on the server (under option 8 - "Shutdown the database", which is not as bad as it sounds).

The icon on the server desktop is something like:
V:\PROGRESS\bin\_mprshut.exe mfgsys -N TCP -H vader -S 6100
where "vader" is our server name and 6100 the port for version 6.1.

It's still a DOS screen.

Another factor in license count I recently tumbled onto....if users are set to not allow multiple sessions then even if the ARE license available they get the "no more licenses" message. Would be nice if it was a different message like - "no more sessions for you!".

Todd-

Yep - that's the tool I used to use! On the old server, however, I had
an icon shortcut for it. With our new server and FT IT manager, I don't
see it (he is in Vegas this week! -- getting ready for Perspectives
2006, no doubt!!) I'll poke around in the Progress/bin folder.
