Does anyone know if there is a road map to support adding multiple attachments at one time, in the various entry programs like SO Entry, Job Entry? It was so easy in E10. With the Kinetic browser, not only can we not drag n drop, we have to add attachments one by one. Pain in
the booty. I heard a rumor that Epicor is pushing customers to just buy DocStar instead.
What version are you on? We are on 2021.2.9 and haven’t test attachments too much. We are in testing to implement later this year.
Drag to attach in 23.1 supports dragging in sets of files at once that’s the plan for multiple file selection.
Browsers don’t provide a way to do a directory selection dialog as classic does because it exposes too much information about your file system so we can’t provide the exact same dialog. Drag to pass files to the browser however works though without exposing that info so that’s our planned solution.
Can you explain that more, because I already have web apps that let me select more than one file name
from the OS dialog.
Usually this commentary is about the select folder to upload whole folder of files behavior in classic so that’s what I was assuming we’re talking about here, but you are right I don’t think there is a restriction on multiple single file selection in one dialog. There’s no security reason to do that - I will have a look and see if we have that disabled for some reason also.

The Kinetic UI in the browser already supports adding multiple files with drag and drop. It is not functioning on every screen, but someone in my office did it somewhere (I want to say Job Entry). Once you drop them a slide out appears and asks you the file type for each attachment.

yes that is true we’ve already shipped this feature for the data tree (ex. if you drag onto a tree node into a bom) and we’re just adding the general attachments drag to upload in 23.1 which is the final missing item that doesn’t support it. It works well with dragging a whole folder, etc basically the same as it does the data tree.
You drag to the header of the page to drag onto the current record or you can drag over a grid to attach to a sub element like the selected line in our current implementation. or as you noted to the tree view on vies like BOM where we show data in the tree.
