We are setting up Kinetic Public Cloud to email invoices, purchase orders and credit memos, etc.
Obviously, we have MFA on our 365 so that confuses Epicor support as Microsoft keeps tightening security.
We plan to send emails from a mix of users and Shared mailboxes.
Invoices should be sent from accounting@domain.com (Shared Mailbox)
Purchase Orders from purchasing@domain.com (Shared Mailbox)
Order confirmations jimmyjohn@domain.com (user mailbox)
Did you setup an app password?

When you set it up make sure you have a user with a mailbox. Or you’ll run into issues. You can use shared mailboxes with send as delegate permissions. Thread linked below from recently with some good information.
I appreciate you sharing the topic. Our current legacy Epicor ERP Manage 2000 uses an Epicor provided relay service called VSI-FAX. Gotta say the SMTP relay sounds like the best idea then maintaining 365. We have zero issues currently with VSI-FAX.
There is also SMTP support in Azure Communication Services Email SMTP support in Azure Communication Services - An Azure Communication Services concept article | Microsoft Learn
but I don’t know if someone tried it.
I’ve used Azure Communication Services. It works like any bulk SMTP. It’s just not free. If you’re already paying for M365 you might as well use the M365 SMTP if you don’t have another SMTP relay service.

And it’s actually pretty helpful. 
Whoa…they’re still around? We used them way back in the day…tied to our old iSeries-based ERP, ran on a PC side by side with Adobe Central Output Server.

There are a couple of blurbs that refer to the Entering Microsoft 365 Settings topic within the Entering Mail Settings Kinetic application help article for creating an app registration instead of using SMTP.
As an aside, Cloud customers who prefer not to manage outbound email configuration in Kinetic can request that Epicor configure their environments to send email through our SendGrid subscription instead. There is no additional fee for that.
Free SendGrid sounds amazing. Our Epicor provided VSI-FAX has zero issues. This would be a comparable solution.

Pros: Using Epicor’s managed SendGrid service eliminates the need to configure, monitor, and maintain outbound email infrastructure for your Cloud environments.
Cons: Customers do not have direct access to delivery or message-level troubleshooting details. This includes limited visibility into recipient-side email delivery issues such as bounces, blocks, spam filtering, suppression lists, or invalid email addresses.

Is there a third option like bring your own SendGrid (or Azure Communication Services, Mailgun, Postmark, Amazon SES) and remove the complexity of email by using Web Requests/REST/Webhooks instead of SMTP, M365, or Google Workspace?
