Limit menu access on handheld/MES

Forgive me. I’m very new to Epicor.

There is a similar question I found here, but I’m still not getting the results I need.

I’ve been tasked with limiting users from doing inventory adjustments on the handheld devices on the shop floor. The handhelds are Zebra devices. I believe they are Android based. The users we want to limit login with a generic shop account.

I’ve tried two different methods, but the handheld devices continue to have access to the adjust inventory menu.

I first found the menu in the management interface on the server and set the security to allow only three users who are management and specifically added the generic shop account to the disallow section.

When that didn’t work, I used the Handheld / MES Menu Security Maintenance and removed access from the Material Handler employee role and only gave access to the Shop Supervisor role.

The handhelds are still able to open that menu. I feel like I’m missing something basic, but I’m at a loss.

Thanks.

Can you go into the Employee maintenance and confirm material handler is only ticked for said employee?

If confirmed, try processing an adjust inventory/quantity on the handheld on a Material Handler only ID on the handhelds. It shouldn’t let you proceed with processing.

Thank you so much for the reply. My contact on-site has been testing with an employee, below is the role section showing what’s selected. Notably, the Shop Supervisor is not selected.

I’m curious, when you say “It shouldn’t let you proceed with processing” does it fail to load the adjust inventory menu? Or does it allow you to start the process, but then fails when you submit the change?

It should fail to submit the change. I’d suggest getting the contact on-site to test on one part whether an adjustment is successful or not when processing on the HH.

Unfortunately, the adjust succeeded with the test.

This is a really basic question, I’m a bit embarrassed to even ask. But, I’m having trouble finding a good discussion of the relationship between users and employees. Security on the menus seems to be using users to allow/disallow. Selecting roles on the HH menu access matches with employees.
