Managing Price Breaks in E10 for Subcontract/Outside Machining Parts

Hi All,

Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I am a buyer in Epicor. I create subcontract jobs and add them to POs as needed.

My question is related to pricing (and price breaks) regarding “subcontracted/outside maching” parts.

How does Epicor handle the pricing on a subcontract part that has price breaks? I know pricing exists in Part Entry, Supplier Price List (two options - parts and subcontract parts) and Engineering Workbench.

My goal is to accurately record pricing and price breaks over time for our subcontract parts. What is the best way to do this?

Thanks again! Please let me know if I can provide any clarification or answer any questions related to my question.

The Supplier Price List allows for price breaks. You would set up a Subcontract Operation price list for a specific Supplier. The important thing to make sure is that the UOM of the price list is the same as the UOM on the Subcontract Operation.

I appreciate the feedback!

Historically, I haven’t been using the Subcontract Operation to enter pricing.

Would you know how E10 uses (using Classic UX) the pricing in the operation within the Engineering Workbench screen? I did see there is a button for price breaks in EW as well.

I am not sure how the Price Breaks in Engineering Workbench work. In a past job, I did set up Subcontract operation price lists that calculated the cost based off of square inches. I recommend using the Supplier Price List as you would not need to change the method each time something changes in the pricing.
