We're on 5.10.115 now and use MRP. We made the jump from 4.00.904 directly
to 5.10 over Thanksgiving , so we didn't play any in 5.0. We recently ran
into problems with MRP, turned out it was because we didn't RTFM (Read The
Friggin Manual)on 5.0 re MRP changes. As of our MRP run last night, it
seems to be working correctly. All the jobs we locked down were ignored by
MRP, with any demand changes generating new unfirm jobs. Tech support was
helpful (and patient!) with me about it, too. Anything else I can do, let
me know.

MRP processing is using MRP suggestions to suggest changes to jobs
that have both the quantity and the date "locked" on the job. This
is resulting in bad job data generated by MRP where you don't want
those dates and quantity suggestions taken into consideration in the
processing. This happens whether you run net change or full MRP
regeneration (help desk did confirm that bug in the system will not
trigger a change when the only change to a record is the locked
toggle boxes being turned on). Has anyone else experienced this
problem in their MRP processing? We have taken out all variables
(minimum stock quantities, minimum mfg. quantities, etc.) and still
get the same effect. Is anyone out there using MRP and if so how?
Does MRP work correctly in 5.1? Any help would really be
appreciated!
