Unapproved rev methods, methods containing inactive parts & running multi-thread (not sure why it is even supported as it is flaky) are the most typical problems we've encounter.
Try verbose logging & perhaps a pattern will be revealed.
Good luck!

Subj:[Vantage] MRP Problems - 8.03 - Waiting for next part...
We occasionally have our MRP full regen hang during the evening scheduled run. Investigation reveals that part way through the regen the logs contain the message "Waiting for next part..." . It doesn't appear to hang on the same part record each time we experience this.
This message is repeated in the MRP log file every 20 minutes until we ultimately cancel the job sometime the next morning. We do run MRP with 3 threads and am wondering if the multiple threads might be causing our problem.
I don't think that a corrupt method is causing it because we can restart MRP without doing any file maintenance and it will run normally to completion.
Have any of you experienced this type of MRP hang?
Do you run multiple threads?
