System Heavy? that is precisely what BPMs are for... however if you want you could customize the form and replace the regular EpiTextBox with an EpiNumericEditor...
However I would still put the BPM in place to ensure that any other means of adding parts (DMT etc) would also be checked for Alpha Characters

Good Day Group


The Part number field in Epicor 10 allows the use of alpha characters. One of our peripheral systems has complications if alpha characters come in the form of a part number. So we need to lock this down.


One plan was to write a BPM to prevent alpha character use. This seemed unnecessarily system heavy. Is there a better way this can be done with Field or Menu Config?

IMHO that is the best tool for that purpose, and in my experience is not ‘system heavy’, it will also protect you from just about any angle.
