(O.T) INOCULATEiIT 6.0 AND BACKUP EXEC 7.3

Okay,
The thing about backups and Virus software and databases is they don't like
each other. You should not run InoculateIT against your Exchange database
it will cause corruption. Only run a backup software against the Exchange
database if it has the option for Exchange.
The Vantage Database also doesn't like being backuped or scanned directly.
Without getting into depth on your errors this is what I think the problem
is.
If you like email me off the list.
Here are two Exchange sites. Microsoft also has a web site just for
Exchange.

Hello Nancy
We are running S.B.S 4.5 which consist of Exchange 5.5, Proxy 2.0 , SQL
Server, and also Vantage. I took a before and after look at processes
running in my task manager. There are 7 fewer processes running with all 7
Backupexec services stopped. The process names are a little cryptic and hard
to relate to specific services. The corrupt error message relates to
Exchange e-mail, and are defined in Veritas KB
http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/231185.htm
<http://seer.support.veritas.com/docs/231185.htm> This article suggest
stopping any 3rd party anti-virus software before running the backup.
Inoculate gives you the option to exclude processes based on a user defined
list. The question is which process should I exclude?

Thanks
Dan Shallbetter

Dan,
What is running on your server? Is it Vantage &/or Exchange?

My backup job log files are showing corrupt file warning messages. I want to
configure Inoculate to excluded the backupexec process. I think it's called
bnengine.exe? Where would I check to verify this? I checked the event
viewer, the only application that corresponds with my scheduled backup job
is one telling me that Exchange is starting a full backup.

Thanks
