Just what I was saying about WD drives last week. My dad's WD in Illinois is doing it almost everyday. "click, click, click". And the computer locks up. Restart. Scan disk with surface scan. (every bootup even when he shuts down normally).

Subject: Re: [Vantage] O.T. swapping hard drives Win2000
You know its funny. I recently bought 3 Western Digital 30 gig drives (along w/ m'boards, ram, etc.) to upgrade three PCs. Two of the three WD drives have already failed.
If you hear a clicking noise, BEWARE! This is the clicking sound of death. Do a ghost to a Seagate (or other) and get it outta there...

I have a hard drive (Western Digital) failing on a Win2000 machine. Looking
for advice on best method of swapping out drives, i.e. Norton Ghost, restore
client using Backup Exec, Windoze E.R D +???, Any help would be
appreciated.
