Just wanted to let you all know that we have resolved this issue (solution was found on a progress knowledgebase article: : http://knowledgebase.progress.com/articles/Article/P116845_
The regedit we first did was correct but because of the workaround to use ODBC on a 64-bit OS using 32-bit office, the registry edit had to be done in a different folder (per this article)
Thanks!
Sarah

Subject: [Vantage] ODBC - connecting thru MS Access Reserved Error -7748 Epicor 9.05.702A Progress db
Hi – I am very late to Epicor 9.05, but we are now in a huge time-crunch to get it upgraded due to a requirement from our parent company that all of our PC’s must be windows 7 before April 8.
Anyway, long story short, the one big hang up we are having is that all of our reporting from Vantage 5.2 was using MS Access connecting via ODBC. I knew there would be a lot of conversion required to get this working on Epicor 9.05, however I did not anticipated all of the issues we are having just getting ODBC working. I have tried searching this group as well as other knowledge bases and the workarounds I have come across are not working.
So, I was hoping someone on this group has successfully gotten ODBC working to connect to the Epicor 9.05 Progress data using M S Access 2010 32-bit on a 64-bit OS?
We have gotten to where ODBC seems to be installed correctly, the Test Connect works, and from within Access I can see the table list and choose a table to connect to, however when I try to actually connect to that tables I get a MS Access error: Reserved Error 9-7748): there is no message for this error.
From the searching I did I came across a solution to edit the registry to add a workarounds2 entry, which we tried but that did not work and upon further reading it appears that this worked with XP and not Windows 7.
If anyone has a solution to this I would be beyond appreciative!
Thanks!
Sarah
