ODBC setup For prgs91d

Don't know if you got an answer to this yet or not... I also am not on
6, so not positive but for vantage 5.2 progress 9.1D, the instructions
on setting up ODBC on the server were included with the Vantage install
instructions, Appendix B - "Tuning the Progress Explorer Tool (PET)",
Section B - "Optimizing the PET with ODBC" . After that is done,
setting up on clients is as follows: (again this is for 5.2 so values
will need to be changed for 6)

1.) Make sure you are logged in as the user.
2.) Go to the ODBC Administrator in the Control Panel.
a. On window NT: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel -> Data Sources
(ODBC)
b. On windows 2000: Start -> Settings -> Control Panel ->
Administrative Tools -> Data Sources (ODBC)
3.) Click the 'User DSN' tab, and click 'Add'
4.) Click 'Merant 3.60 32-Bit Progress SQL92 v9.1D' and click
'Finish'
5.) The configuration screen will open. Enter the following:
In the 'General' Tab
Data Source Name: epic52 [reference your 6.0 name]
Description: Vantage by Epicor
Host Name: [server name]
Port Number: [vantage port# - for 5.2 its 5250]
Database Name: [database name - for 5.2 its vantage]
User ID: sysprogress
In the 'Advanced' Tab
Default Isolation Level: READ UNCOMMITTED (for read-only)
Fetch Array Size: 50

HTH,
Sarah
