[Off Topic] Accepting Credit Cards

The statements come at the end of the month, so it really doesn't effect
our aged receivables that much. Besides credit card use is very minimal
for us. No separate account and so far have not had any charge backs.
To tell you the truth I have no idea about rates. My company wanted
this done so I called my bank and they took care of it. We pay a
percentage to the card company based on the amount of the charge,
American Express is high, the others are manageable.

How long does it take for your payment? Did you have to have reserve
account for chargebacks? Our banks rates cheaper or the same than
third party co's?

We recently did this with help from our bank. They set us up for VISA,
MC & Discover. For American Express you set up directly with them.

We do not show payment until a statement is received from our bank
showing transaction was complete.

Is it handled thru a thrid party? I have never had to set this up or
research it before so any info would be helpful. Also, how do you
handle this in Vantage? When do you creidt the
customers invoice? When the credit card company pays you or when they
give you the credit Card number? If you make it paid when they give you
the credit card # - the how do you keep track of the credit card company
- what they owe you?

We just went to our main bank. They came in and setup a credit card
machine. Once the invoice is created we run the credit card through the
machine. Once we get the approved print out we process the payment in
vantage. I believe (would have to verify) the payment is made the next day
to our account from the CC company. Pretty painless.

We have used PCVerify for several years to accept credit cards and it seems
to work well...

It's a software based solution that offers many features over the zon
machine... If you have any questions give me a hollar...
