[off topic] help - help - time change problem

Just change the time on the domain controller. If your running AD then all
other servers will update from it. Or at least that's the way ours works.

If I'm not mistaken, this is an Active Directory issue.

Log on to the local admin account on the server and you should be able
to make any time changes as needed.

Hello Everyone,

Well thanks to those damn politicians changing the day for daylight
savings
- I am having a network problem

Our servers changed the time over the weekend. Someone came in and
changed
our Vantage time to be correct for when everyone clocks in - as soon as
they
did that, the rest of the servers "denied" access to everyone because
the
times did not match. They manually corrected the other servers to match
Vantage server but it did not make a difference. No one can log on to
the
file server now.

Any ideas?

Have a Nice Day,

I had this once after a server came back from a CPU replacement. I had to coordinate the time between the servers using the Net Time command. I can't recall which way I did it but I think I used the Vantage server ans the "authoritative" source.

At the command prompt: Net Time \\SourceServerName /set
This should set the time of the PC in synch with the source server's time.

Eventually I set one server to obtain the time form an internet source and set all the others to query that server so they all stay in synch with each other. See: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/net_time.mspx?mfr=true

I would start by patching at least your server with the DST patch.
