I've used the WinConnect XP from Thinsoft, but I've read good things about
the Elusiva product as well.



This is basically a Terminal Server without using the full blown product.
I've included some links to a few of the products that are out there. Any
user that isn't physically in the building would use the built in Remote
Desktop software in Windows to connect to a computer at your plant and then
launch Vantage from there. I have done this for remote data collection and
running Vantage at separate facilities where the cost associated wasn't
worth going with Terminal Server or Citrix.

Hello,

We have employees in China, Switzerland and Italy - Mainly all work out of
there home. But is possible this will change in China and they will have a
office there. Up until now, if they needed a quote or needed to check
pricing, they would call/email us and we would enter everything into Vantage
and email it to them.

The owner of the company is asking me, to either find another package for
them to use or have them connect into Vantage. I would think we would want
them to use the same as us - they are not a separate entity. (at least I
don't think they are going to be)

My question is, how is everyone else handling employee's in China and MRP
software. Is there a problem with the internet speed and them connecting
to your server? Any insight would be great.

We use Vantage from Multi sites and home users
and people who travel.
Most of our users user windows remote desktop (terminal services)
to talk to Vantage, in the office and out of the office.

this works fine over a VPN link.
And can give you local printing as well.
