Running Vantage via Terminal Service

We're using Terminal Server at Electroimpact -- much easier to manage the
Vantage client on that one machine than on all the other clients.
Accounting/Inspection have the Vantage client installed to give them a
longer Progress Timeout (90 minutes) whereas the others use the Terminal
Server timeout (15 minutes). Since our Terminal Server is directly connected
at gigabit speed to the Vantage Server, bypassing the network, it's actually
much faster but they don't want to give up their longer timeout.

We'll also have a Data Collection client in the UK using a Remote Desktop
Connection to a Citrix Server without a timeout.

Vantage 8 is supposed to have user-controlled timeouts.

Greetings,

We are moving Vantage onto a new server (Dual 3.2ghz Xeon w/HT, 2GB ram and
ultra320 scsi hard drives, RAID 10 w/Hotspare). We are considering running
the clients via terminal service rather than through a client based install.

According to Vantage tech support, this is a commonly used method. We are
thinking about running the client portion with Microsoft Terminal Services
or using Citrix running over MS Terminal Services.

Can anyone provide feedback on either of these methods? We have never tried
this before and would like to make our decision based on as much real world
application as possible.

TIA,
