Off topic Vantage Lock-ups

Check promon and see if some of the users are logged in twice. When you open promon I think the selection to pick is #8, follow the instructions to disconnect a user.

Hi Everyone,

I am still on Version 3.0 Progress 8.3a Windows NT 4.0 (12 users - 6 data collection users) and we've been having intermitten problems with lock-ups. We have the normal workstation lock up but every so often we have a situation where a user gets kicked out of Vantage and then cannot get back in with the error that vantage.ini could not be found. I cannot even unisntall and reinstall the client on the workstation. When this happens anyone who is working in vantage is fine but no one else can log in either. ProCtrl shows the DB running. The workstations can ping the server and see network neighborhood. I have to reboot the server and then everything is back to normal.

I can't quite figure this one out and am not sure where to even start looking. It seems like its a progress problem. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Is someone other than you trying to re-install the Vantage client? Also,
make sure that the vantage work folders that are on each workstation and
data collection station are named the same thing. It's been a long time
since 3.0, but I seem to remember that both of these things caused similar
problems in the past.

Hi Everyone,

I am still on Version 3.0 Progress 8.3a Windows NT 4.0 (12 users - 6 data
