Hey Todd,
that's why I post to this listserver on these issues. When I try to
explain it to (some)
of the tech's at epicor, they get defensive because they don't seem to know
(or care) what I'm talking about.

To be fair, they (like us) are at the mercy of what the coders have
provided.
I am looking into a kevlar flak jacket.

Hey youse guys,

We moved to V5.2 two weeks ago. I just got cornered by some
customer service reps and barely escaped with my life.
These people were a bit upset about the change from previous editions in the
quoting module. It used to be that you could find a
quote by the quoterID. In V5.2 there is no sort capability in the
"opportunity/quote" tracker. To find their name associated with the
quote, they now have to change the default sort to "salesperson"....?????
They are now in the salesperson table. One of their
complaints is that they are not salespersons. In fact they insist that the
salesperson field is bound to the salesrep. I see their point. Never
mind that when the default sort is changed that it takes a couple of minutes
to return all of the quotes.
Anyway....bottom line, (in the minds of our customer service folks)
the quote module has taken a hit backwards from previous
editions. I am considering writing a report builder report to give them
back the functionality to be able to sort by quoterID, because it is gone
in 5.2. Nice job Epicor!

Amen brothah. I was skinned alive upon switching from 4.0 to 5.2. Same issue. What makes it more frustrating is you try to explain the problem to Epicor and you get the equivalent of a blank stare.
