Jim,
Attached is a Word doc with an overview. Let me know if you have questions
or problems. It is straight forward and don't worry you really can't screw
anything up in your AD.

Todd,
We have had AD since the first of the year and I wanted to use a policy, but
I never was able to feel comfortable enough to try it. I was afraid I would
mess up the security for all pc's. That's why I went with the individual
registry hacks. After that, it was a simple matter of cloning the hard
driver for the other pc's. Can you give me some directions or point me to a
good simple source on setting up a group policy. I'm sure there will be some
things I want to do in the future using policies. I have a logon banner, but
again I use reg. hacks for that.
That would be a great use of group policy.

All of these things being mentioned here can be done for free with WIN2K
Policies. I would not use gpedit.msc as this requires you to maintain each
workstation separately. If you create a group policy in active directory you
have all the same options as gpedit.msc plus about a thousand more and they
can all be managed by one policy on the server rather than on each separate
workstation. And it is free and easy/simple to do. Just my 2 cents.
Todd
