OT - Microsoft Question regarding File Types under Folder Optio

Yes, but I had to make the change to the registry in order for local
admins to be able to get the change options under file types. Each and
every person must be made a local admin before they can use crystal. If
I change the registry back to where it was, no one, not even the admins
(domain or local) can change file tyes.

Now, I could reinstall crystal, but with all the patches that need to be
reapplied I don't' know what is the worst nightmare.

If you must install corvu on TS, make sure you install it BEFORE you
install crystal.

Susan
An alternate method is login as admin and temporarily make the TS
user a local admin - make the change and then undo the local admin.

I finally got Microsoft on the phone and resolved this issue. FOR ALL
TERMINAL SERVER USERS OUT THERE YOU NEED TO KNOW THIS -

You cannot change file types on a terminal server without going into the
registry, making a change, and rebooting the server. After you've
changed the file type, you must then reset the registry to where it was
before and make a final reboot. This is a great UI lockdown but
unfortunately, it locks down Administrators too. Your only alternative
is to edit the registry.

Our *.RPT files are opening with Corvu instead of Crystal ever since we
installed Corvu on the TS. I went into folder options to switch the file
types back to Crystal but all options to make changes are grayed out.
This confounds me as neither I or the Network Manager seem to suddenly
have permission to make the change.

Do any of you know where I would begin to find the culprit? I've spent
considerable time going through policies and can't find anything wrong.
The other servers are fine and we can make changes. Just not on the
critical server.
