Also go to the control panel and disable the Win Proxy Client. Both
the IE check box and the Proxy client have to be disabled for it to
work.

I am sorry for 3 off topic questions in a week but I have no one else to
turn to. If anyone has any crumbs they could throw my way I would be
forever grateful.

In experimenting with DUN and Proxy server on a Win98 and a XP Pro
client I have noticed that I can have DUN working then when I load the
Proxy Server Application so the user can get the internet on our network
- DUN no longer works (I have Proxy turned off, etc, etc). Can the two
co-exist on the same PC? I have been searching on the internet for over
an hour and have not come up with anything conclusive.

I got a new PC's for three individuals at our Company. The new OS is XP
Pro. Their old OS's were NT and 98. I have two domains on our network
one that has two Windows 2000 Servers (BDC), the other domain (the one I
want them logging into - the PDC) has a NT Server. If they log into the
2000 Domain the computer has no problem. If I log them into the NT
Server I get a bunch of errors that the PC can't find their local
profile on the network and any changes to their profile will be lost.
We don't have roaming profiles. One of the individuals had profile
settings in their home directory and I deleted it (user.dat). I then
deleted their profile folder on the XP client. I thought that maybe it
would be recreated. No luck. I don't know what else to do.

TIA,

Juliet

First Question:

I will check the event log and get some numbers to look up and exact
error message.

Second question:

Microsoft Proxy 2.0

The person has a laptop connected to our network. When he takes it home
he can't get on the internet using his dial up. Everything seems to be
set up correctly. Like I said - If I set up the DUN first I can connect
to the internet using his home account. Once I load proxy I can only
get connected while I am on the company network. I can't get the dial
up to function anymore.
