Part Replacement In Configured Assembly

Hi all,

I’d like to know if a part swapped into a method via configurator which then has it’s part number changed will still consume stock of the original swapped in part.

So:

  1. Stock part exists in configurable part method.
  2. Part number is changed to unique value for the job during configuration.
  3. Original stock part is still consumed.

Is this the case?

If you swap out the part number during the Configurator Rules, then the new part will be the only thing that shows in the job (and not the old one). Therefore the old part will not be consumed, only the new one.
