Payroll bug! Affects W2!

We are still running 3.0, so I passed this information on to our Finance
Manager since I knew she was getting ready to run W2's. After about a
day of analysis, she found that if you go back and rerun the quarterly
tax reports, it shows the amount to be corrected. In other words, the
reprinted quarterly reports varied from the original ones printed
earlier in the year. The W2's came out correct. Has anyone else
discovered this too or did we miss something else?

I just got done checking 3.0 and this problem exists there as well.
Thanks
for the heads-up, Joe.

We are on version 4 with the 904 patch. We caught this by
reconciling the 941 taxes to the taxes in the "earnings
report" and the "quarterly tax report".

Just found out today that there is a bug in payroll
that affects W2's.

If you void a check in a period other than what the original
check was posted the total taxable wages will be incorrect.
Only fix is to manually edit the W2's. Tech support confirmed
this and said there are no plans to fix it.
Which version of Vantage are you running?

Joe, did you find the error in reconciling 941 totals to the W-3 totals? Do
you reconcile Vantage to a manual spreadsheet? Or how did you locate the
problem? Are all versions of Vantage going to have this problem?
