Prefix serial number attaches to original SN

Our company currently turned on Track Serial Numbers in part master. We have run into a problem which is prefix SN accidently turned on and it attached to one specific part number. Even though, we cleared prefix SN in part master, whenever we tried to assign serial numbers to that specific part, prefix would be appeared in front of original SN. As the right now we accept bad serial numbers and then would changed it with background code on the sql server, but by doing so, Job Tracker will stop retrieving/showing SN which are assigned to the job numbers.

You shouldn’t do that. Bypassing Epicor logic and updating tables directly in the DB is a big no-no.

For correction, I would have used qty adjustments - out with the wrong serials, in with the correct ones.

Does your part have a correct serial mask assigned to it ? It doesn’t look like it from your screenshots.

To display the sn in job tracker, kindly do the changes snstatus with WIP in sntran, serialtran.
