You have to create a View in Progress to work around this problem. I believe the instructions are included in the ODBC kit. You then link/import from the customer view instead of the customer table. The only problem I have with the Part table is the Part Description field is to long. I just dont import that field.
Thanks
Jeremy

Subject: [Vantage] Progress & ODBC error
When we had Vantage 5.1 I was able to import all Vantage tables into Access or Excel. Now that we have upgraded to Vantage 6.1.507, Progress 9.1D and Merant 3.60 32-bit Progress SQL92 v9.1d ODBC driver.
I cannot import or link the Customer or the Part Master table into Access. I do not have any problem with other files. I can import the Customer or Part Master table in Excel only if I exclude certain fields. I spoke to Tech about it and they sent me an ODBC fix for it which I had use before on 51 but It didn't work. Can anyone help me figure out why I cannot import those tables into Access
This is the error that I get when importing into Access.
" The operation failed. there are too many indexes on table 'VtQoDefTemp0000'. Delete some of the indexes on the table and try the operation again.
This is the error if I try to link the table instead of importing
" The operation failed. There are too many indexes on table 'PUB_Customer'. Delete some of the indexes on the table and try the operation again.
In Excel I get this error
[DataDirect-Technologies][ODBC Progress driver][Progress]Column formatstr in table PUB_Customer has value exceeding max leght or precision.
