I can create a new tab on my home page screen and I have created a new layout but how do I modify the new layou? I choose it the new layout if overwrites my current home screen but it is not in the format I want. How do I have it to the layout or how do I save a tab as a layou? I am missing a step and can’t find any help or education files to help me.
A layout is the whole set of “tabs”. To edit your layout, just go to the vertical … Click Edit. Add whatever you want. More tabs, more widgets, links, BAQs, resize and shape everything to your liking. Then click the little save disk icon. That saves YOUR layout. If you want to deploy it, then you have to publish your layout, which is governed by security rules in your user setup.
I think I got it. I appears to be published and a use can select the layout if they want it.I don’t see how I can make it only available to certain security groups. I am guessing if I don’t want anyone to change it I would have to remove personalization permissions? I am not sure what controls the ability to edit your layout.
I tried to import the layout i created. I am not sure how to get the imported layout to save as a named layout.
Once you are happy with your layout, go to Layout Management, click the name of your layout. It will show a slideout to apply an optional security code, and publish the layout. This should make it appear in the list. I am not sure how to restrict users from editing a layout.
Thanks I got it working but I can’t get it published to anyone else. It only shows for me. They can see the layout to select but doesn’t populated the correct screen. I have opened a case with support but it SLOW moving.
Did you try these steps, click overflow, click Layout Management:
and then pick Sales from the list which brings this window up:
And then click Publish.
I’ve got security populated for who can see it, leave that blank if you want everyone to see it.
Once complete, I would recommend logging out and back in on whichever user you want to see it. Click the overflow and see if Sales is now available to them.
yep. I worked with support yesterday and I think it is working now. I don’t know what was going on. Support did say it can be finnicky
