Purchasing Comments

With the most recent upgrade to Kinetic, Part Purchasing Comments are no longer automatically carried over to the Purchase Order if the part is non-stock and/or if the part is non-quantity bearing. This should NOT make any difference to the purchase order, the purchasing comments should still print. It’s very frustrating that suddenly this option has been taken away with no notification. It affects half of our purchase orders. I hope others don’t rely on this function.

Have you reported this to support? What Kinetic version are you on?

Which version, exactly?

Sorry…we are using Kinetic 2024.2.7. It’s been reported to Epicor but they said it’s functioning the way they intended it to, but it makes no sense at all. We create P.O.'s for non-stock items and we place P.O.'s for non-inventory items that are entered into our Part Table, so why wouldn’t the purchasing comments be carried over to those items onto the P.O. and only for stock, inventoried items? It just doesn’t make sense that they made this change and we wondered if anyone has a work around.

I just tested this and the comments carried over on my nonstock part to my purchase order . . . not sure exactly what steps you are following.

I have a huge favor to ask of you. Can you do the test and mark the part as a non-quantity bearing part and see if the Purchasing Comments transfer over to the PO? We never brought up the stock/non-stock checkbox, they did when we reported it. We said the part was a non-quantity bearing part. I’d love to hear when happens.
