We went from 8.03.305i to 9.04.505a about a month ago, and it felt like we had gone to a beta product. We have come across a significant number of bugs. I believe we are up to 9 SCRs at this point. Some of them have supposedly been fixed in 506. I would steer clear of 505 if I had a time machine. I don't know how many of the bugs were introduced in 505, so you may already have them, but they just don't impact you. Here are some of them to give you some things to test:
-Context sensitive help doesn't work in many modules
-Search does not work in help
-Verify GL Balances causes posted invoices from V8 to move to invoiced date, as opposed to posted date.
-Shipping directly from wip does not result in transaction to cost of goods sold.
-Build project analysis hangs when a project has a phase with no job associated.
-When duplicating quotes, some lines don't get duplicated, and some lines that do get duplicated don't print on worksheet.
-Cycle count maintenance will only see cycle groups in the first plant.
-Favorites are now hardcoded to the server and port they were created in. If you restore your database to a test server, and users click on favorites they created in the production server, it will open the module from the production server. They are prompted to authenticate, but that didn't stop our inventory manager who was testing cycle counting. Which leads me to an annoyance, you can't delete cycle counts once they start (new feature in 9).
That should give you a few things to test. If we ever get to a point where the list is stabilizing, we intend to post some lessons learned. Right now, I have dreams of going back to 8.03.
Good Luck!
